181990.jpg - 30105 Bytes British stunt riders clinched two spectacular world records when they defied fire …and shopping trolley's!

The Magnificent Seven team's top rider, Chris Simpson, hurtled 125 feet through 25 burning hoops to set a new fire survival record at Manby Show-ground, Louth, Lincs.

When Londoner Chris (24), powered his Yamaha XT550 through the searing heat of the petrol doused rings of fire, 25 year old stunt girl Sue Rees sailed over the top of the flames on a Honda CR125.

It took 25 gallons of petrol to start the blaze but only 3 seconds for Chris to speed into the record books.

Lee French (26), went for the more bizarre stunt. He became the first man to clear 300 shopping trolleys in a Sainsbury's organised event at Ardingly show-ground, Surrey three days later.

1981982.jpg - 32168 Bytes More than 50 volunteers are needed to take part in death-defying stunt motorbike stunt. The Catford based Magnificent Seven motorbike stunt team are hoping to break the world record body jump.

The volunteers will form part of a human wall along with 30 people hand-picked by the stunt team.

Rider John "Golly" Goddard will attempt to leap over 80 people on his motorbike and smash his own record of 72. He will make the dramatic jump on Sunday afternoon at our grand gala day on Hilly Fields, Ladywell. The stunt is one of many which will be performed by the Magnificent Seven who hold four world records for having 22 people on a motorbike; leaping over 16 buses; the body jump and leaping through 125ft of flames.

John "Golly" Goddard joined the team at the beginning of last year. The highlight of his stunt life came last month when he broke Eddie Kidd's record by leaping over 16 buses.
